It is carnival week in Shepton Mallet and the town is getting ready to host the annual, brightly-lit extravaganza.
Shepton Mallet Carnival will take place on Wednesday November 13 from 7.30pm, and the build up to the event will start tomorrow (November 11).
Field View and Cannards Grave Road will be closed from 9pm on Monday November 11 until midnight on November 13 for the parking of carnival carts.
Parking for vehicles without private drives in Cannard's Grave Road has been made available at Mendip District Council offices.

Whitstone Road will be closed from 9pm on November 11 to 6am on November 12. Access to properties during this period will be on a one way system, direction of travel is from the Charlton traffic lights to the Rock Flock Roundabout.
This road is being used to muster the carnival carts on arrival in Shepton Mallet. It will then close again from 7.30pm until end of the procession on carnival night.
Vehicle access to Tadley Acres will be possible via Hobbs Road from the Rock Flock Roundabout under direction of marshals during procession.
In terms of car parking, if you are travelling from West Shepton Tesco at Townsend Retail Park has kindly allowed car parking (not coaches), from 4.30pm on carnival night, the three-hour parking limit will be waived.
Road closures for the procession are from 6.45pm, but access to Tesco car park from West Shepton only will remain open during the carnival with the exit towards West Shepton on the B3136 being your route available.
All cars have to be removed by 10.30pm, when Tesco security will have their barriers in place.
Travelling from East Shepton, to avoid the crowds and congestion at the start of the procession it is better to park at Dobbies Car Park or B & M car park and then walk to watch carnival at about 8.15pm at the Charlton crossroads or Whitstone Road.
Dobbies' shop and restaurant will remain open till 6pm, but their car park will stay open for coaches (without a booking) and cars until 11pm.
