Shepton Mallet's participation in the 'Love Your Local Market' campaign brought a spotlight to its market traders and local products.

Running from 17 May to 1 June 2024, the campaign was a part of a national initiative to celebrate the vibrant market culture across the UK. Shepton Mallet's market, adorned with the LYLM banner, showcased the town's commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering community ties.

The variety of traders featured, and the quality of products on offer, is not only a reminder that these markets are a great place to go shopping, but also highlights their importance to the local economy and their contribution to daily life.

The Love Your Local Market (LYLM) campaign celebrates the vital role our brilliant local markets play in our communities, offering:

  • a unique shopping experience
  • supporting local businesses
  • fostering community spirit
  • finding fantastic produce

With over 160 traders participating across Mendip Markets, visitors enjoyed a wide array of products from farm-fresh produce to handmade crafts.
