The two teams changed shifts and worked together to track down the individual. Thanks to their efforts, the man was swiftly located and arrested, then taken into custody.

Neighbourhood policing can be a complex and challenging task, and much of the work carried out by officers goes unseen by the public. However, the Shepton Mallet and Frome Neighbourhood teams remain committed to ensuring their community's safety and security.

In addition to their regular duties, the officers received training on court files and child safeguarding. This ongoing training helps to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out their duties effectively.

A spokesperson for the Shepton Mallet Neighbourhood team said: "We work closely with partner agencies and other police units to serve our community in the most effective way possible. Although some of our work may take place away from public view, we want to assure the community that we are here, working hard to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for everyone to live in."
