Drivers using the A371 near Shepton Mallet will face a temporary 30mph speed limit from Friday, 17 July, until Tuesday, 21 July 2026. Somerset Council has made the order for the stretch between Bagborough Lane and the B3081 Prestleigh Road during the Rock & Ribs Festival.

The restriction covers the A371 from its junction with Bagborough Lane to its junction with Prestleigh Road, through the parishes of Doulting and Evercreech. It will apply only when the temporary traffic signs are displayed.

The 30mph restriction is planned for the five days from 17 to 21 July.

Somerset Council said the order was being made because work is being carried out or proposed near the road, and because of the likelihood of danger to the public or serious damage to the road.
