Shepton Lido opening date confirmed as countdown begins

The countdown is officially on at Shepton Mallet Lido — with just five weeks to go until swimmers are welcomed back for the new season.
The popular outdoor pool has confirmed it will reopen on Friday, 1 May 2026, teeing up the return of sunny swims, family days out and the first real taste of summer in Shepton.
In an upbeat post shared online, the lido said it cannot wait to throw open its gates again after the long off-season.
It said: "The countdown is ON… Shepton Mallet Lido officially opens on 1st May 2026.
"Get ready for sunny swims, family fun, and those long-awaited summer vibes. Whether you're planning morning laps, lazy afternoons by the pool, or days out with the kids — we can't wait to welcome you back."
The reopening will come as a boost for families, regular swimmers and anyone already looking ahead to warmer days in the town.
