Shepton birdhouse sessions offer tools and company
By Laura Linham 1st Jul 2026
Shepton Mallet residents are being invited to build birdhouses and feeders this summer in a series of relaxed wellbeing sessions at the town's Men's Shed.
The sessions will run every Monday from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Men's Shed, Unit 8, Charlton Estate, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5QE. They are open to people aged 16 and over, with a maximum of six places available at each session.
The project is aimed at people who want to boost their wellbeing, meet others and learn a practical skill in a friendly setting. Organisers say the sessions are about more than woodworking, offering a chance to connect, share stories and be part of a supportive community.
People do not need to be experienced with tools to take part. The sessions are open both to those who are already handy and those who are trying woodworking for the first time.
Dates confirmed are Monday, 6 July, 13 July, 20 July and 27 July, followed by Monday, 3 August, 10 August, 17 August, 24 August and 31 August.
Advance booking is required because spaces are limited. To book a place, email [email protected].
