Sexey’s Student Livvy Miller Selected for England Endurance Riding Squad
The International Committee representing Endurance GB is pleased to announce that Livvy Miller, a talented local rider from Sexey's School in Somerset, has been chosen as a member of the England Squad for the prestigious Home International Endurance Championships.
This highly anticipated event will see teams from England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland compete at the British Horse Feeds & Golden Paste Company Red Dragon Festival of Endurance, hosted at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells from September 29th to October 1st, 2023.
Livvy Miller, a rising star in the world of endurance riding, will proudly represent England in this exciting championship. Livvy's journey in endurance riding has been nothing short of remarkable, having started with her beloved mare, Electra Star (Ellie), just over a year ago. Ellie, a 15.1hh Arab cross Quarter horse, has quickly become Livvy's trusted partner in this challenging sport.
The duo's dedication and determination were on full display when they clinched victory at the National Young Rider Championships in August 2023, marking their first race ride together. Ellie's two favorite things, cantering and eating, align perfectly with the demands of endurance riding.
The Home International Endurance Championship, an annual event hosted by each of the four participating countries on a rotational basis, aims to encourage riders at all levels and foster international team competition experiences. Each country will be represented by a team of twelve riders plus two reserve riders.
The selection process for the England squad was rigorous and competitive, with Livvy earning her well-deserved spot. Bella Fricker, Chef d'Equipe of the England squad, expressed her confidence in the team, saying, "We are delighted with our final team. With such a huge pool of talent to choose from, the selection wasn't easy. We have every confidence in the squad's ability to tackle the Welsh hills, particularly with such established combinations to represent us."
Livvy Miller shared her excitement about the selection, stating, "I am so delighted to have been selected for the team. I have had so much fun with Ellie this year, and sometimes I forget she's still quite new to Endurance. We have had Ellie since she was a foal, and we have grown up together, making this whole experience even more special to me and my family. Being a part of the England squad has been a huge aspiration of mine, and I am over the moon that I have achieved it this soon. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the sponsors; they have been so kind in supplying the team and providing invaluable advice."
