Motorists travelling between Shepton Mallet and Wells will face disruption at the end of October due to a two-day road closure on Long Street in Croscombe.

The road will be closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on 28 and 29 October, as Wessex Water carries out essential repairs to a damaged manhole cover in the centre of the carriageway.

The closure will affect a 24-metre stretch of Long Street, from the junction with Back Lane to the junction with Duncart Lane. During the work, a diversion will be in place via Old Wells Road and St Peter's Road.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys during the closure period.
