Revised plans submitted to demolish former Queen's Arms pub in Wraxall and build houses on site

Revised plans have been submitted to Mendip District Council for the demolition of the former Queen's Arms pub in Wraxall and the building of seven houses on the site.

The planning application for the demolition of the existing building and the building of seven dwellinghouses with associated vehicular access and parking (revised scheme) at the Queen's Arms, Wraxall Road, Wraxall, has been submitted by Royanne Ltd.

An outline application for the partial demolition of buildings, conversion of the retained building as a pair of semi-detached houses and building of five detached houses with associated vehicular access and parking was approved in October 2018.

This revised plan now proposes to fully demolish the former pub and build six three-bedroom houses and one two-bedroom house on the site instead.

Other planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have been submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:

Works to trees in a Conservation Area, removal of one limb to T1- Damson tree, removal of self seeding T2- Goat Willow, prune T3- Silver Birch at The View, Zion Hill, Oakhill, are wanted by Mrs Baughan.

Erection of two storey rear extension and single storey side extension at Rose Cottage, Hembridge Road, East Pennard, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Callen.

Prior approval for a proposed change of use of agricultural building to a dwellinghouse (Class C3) on land at West Lane, Croscombe, is wanted by Mr Andrew Wyatt.

Demolition of existing agricultural barn and erection of detached dwelling at Hurlingpot Farm, Kings Road, Doulting, has been applied for by Mr G Perry.

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 7 (Foul Drainage) and condition 8 (Surface Water Drainage) on planning consent 2019/1708/FUL at plot north of Scarlet Withies Farm, Worminster Lane, North Wootton, has been made by Mr and Mrs Uphill.

Prior approval for a proposed change of use of agricultural building to three dwellinghouses (Class C3) on land at Mendip Farm, Mendip Road, Stoke St Michael, is wanted by Mr Nicholas Brownlow.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 6 (Parking), 8 (Landscape and Ecological Management Plan) and 10 (Surface Water Drainage Ponds) on planning consent 2019/2006/FUL on land at Evercreech Junction, Evercreech, by D and J Nash has been approved.

Resubmission of 2019/1505/FUL - Partial erection of crane structure for a temporary period until August 1 2023 (retrospective) at Steanbow Farm, Steanbow, Pilton, by Mr Cole has been refused.

Erection of garage/outbuilding at Hyatts Hill, Fosse Road, Stoke St Michael, by Alison Bailey has been approved.

Application for approval of reserved matters relating to 1 dwelling (Plot 2), following outline approval 2018/2573/OTS for the erection of 2 dwellings, matters of access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale (Plot 2 only) on land south of Bloomfield, Coalpit Lane, Stoke St Michael, by Mr Stephen Tovey has been approved.

Proposed two storey rear extension, internal alterations, and conversion of existing outbuilding into ancillary annexe accommodation at Beechwood, Bath Road, Oakhill, by Mr and Mrs A Brown has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 7 (Bat Box), 13 (Surface Water Drainage), 14 (Foul Water Drainage), on planning consent 2019/1813/FUL at The Forge, Dark Lane, North Wootton, by Sebastian and Lizbeth Galbraith-Helps has been approved.
