Police Make Anti-Social Behaviour and Theft Incidents a Policing Priority in Townsend

By Laura Linham 5th May 2023

Police in Shepton have made addressing anti-social behaviour and theft incidents around Townsend a policing priority after an increase in reported incidents in the area.

The police are urging the public to provide any information related to these incidents. They have also included this area in their patrol plans to address the issue and prevent any further occurrences.

A spokesperson for the police team said: "We have noticed an increase in incidents in the Townsend area and we encourage anyone with information or concerns to contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action. We have also increased our patrols in the area to prevent any further occurrences and provide reassurance to the community."

The police have also reminded residents of the importance of securing their homes and valuables, as opportunistic thieves often take advantage of unlocked doors and windows. They have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.
