Shepton Mallet police officers were out early this morning as part of their latest school engagement patrols, aiming to improve road safety outside local schools.

Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers visited Bowlish Primary School, where they introduced the new "Parking Buddies" scheme.

These bright and visible signs are designed to remind drivers to keep zigzag lines clear and ensure safer drop-off and pick-up times for pupils.

Local police are encouraging parents and carers to familiarise themselves with the new road safety measures.

Anyone with questions about the scheme, including parking restrictions and exemptions, can contact their local school, town council, or neighbourhood policing team for further information.
