Plans for two bungalows to be built in Shepton Mallet have been approved by Mendip District Council.

The planning application for the building of two two-bedroom bungalows with six parking spaces, courtyard gardens, and cycle/refuse/recycling storage on land at Monmouth Road, Shepton Mallet, had been submitted by Vougar Mamedou.

The site is currently a parking forecourt with garages, and the plans are to build the bungalows in their place, with small courtyard gardens to the rear and off-street parking provision to the front.

In approving the plans, the officer's report states that the proposal meets the council's settlement strategy for the location of new development and the design, scale and layout would be in keeping with its surroundings.
