Paranormal investigator to share ghostly recordings at Shepton Mallet Prison event

A unique evening exploring the unexplained is set to take place at Shepton Mallet Prison later this month, as part of its ongoing Evening Behind Bars series.
The event, Voices From The Shadows, will be held on Wednesday 23 April and will be led by Ann Morrison, a paranormal investigator who has spent the past seven years capturing Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) within the prison's historic walls.
Shepton Mallet Prison is widely known for its long and often grim history, with claims of hauntings dating back decades. Built in the 17th century, it is one of the oldest prison buildings in the world still standing.
During the event, guests will hear a selection of EVP recordings believed to feature voices and sounds from both human and non-human sources. Ann will explain how these recordings are made, discuss some of the theories behind them, and share insights into what they may reveal about the prison's past.
Organisers say the evening is not just about scares, with some of the content offering surprising – and sometimes even comforting – interpretations of the paranormal.
Tickets are priced at £10 per adult, with 50% off available to Annual Pass and Officer Pass holders. Admission includes a complimentary drink on arrival.
