Shepton Mallet creative play sessions launched
By Guest 5th Jun 2026
Families with babies, toddlers and preschool children are being invited to step into a world of imagination this summer as Make the Sunshine launches a new programme at its community studio in Shepton Mallet.
The Connect, Play & Create sessions will take place on Monday mornings at Make the Sunshine Studio, 17 High Street, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5AA.
Families are also being invited to try their first session for free.
The programme is designed for children under five and their grown-ups, with story-led movement, sensory play, dancing, imaginative games and creative props.
Make the Sunshine says the sessions are intended to help families connect, explore and create together in a welcoming local space.
The sessions will be led by Emma-Jayne Gray, a trained dancer, qualified teacher and dance movement practitioner.
Activities will include movement games, sensory exploration, storytelling adventures and creative play inspired by children's imaginations.
The sessions have been designed to support early development while keeping fun, creativity and connection at the heart of the experience.
They form part of Make the Sunshine's growing offer from its new community studio on Shepton Mallet High Street, which aims to provide creative opportunities for local people of all ages.
Session times are:
- Babies and crawlers: 10am to 11am
- Toddlers and walkers: 10.45am to 11.45am
