New pop‑up shop ‘The Artistry’ opens in Shepton Mallet

A new pop‑up shop showcasing the work of more than 30 local artists and makers has opened at 37 Town Street in Shepton Mallet.
Organised by Shepton Mallet Town Council in partnership with regeneration specialists Interim Spaces, The Artistry officially welcomed visitors at 4 pm on Wednesday 17 July.

The unit, previously vacant, has been transformed into a collective retail space managed by a core team of local makers.
It features a rotating range of handmade goods including homeware, artwork, jewellery, ceramics and textiles. The Artistry will also host a programme of accessible community workshops.
Shepton Mallet Town Council funded the unit's rent and supported start‑up costs through an initial grant.
The council describes the project as part of its wider efforts "to support the local economy and breathe new life into our High Street", creating opportunities for local makers while enhancing the vibrancy of the town centre.

Dan Simon, Director of Interim Spaces, said The Artistry acts "as a shop and a platform for local talent", aiming to drive more footfall to Town Street and contribute to the town's practical regeneration.
An open‑event launch included refreshments sponsored by Brothers Drinks, and provided an opportunity for visitors to meet the makers and explore the space.
Those interested in hosting workshops or selling their products at The Artistry are invited to contact the team at hello@the‑artistry.uk.
