The Mid Somerset Agricultural Society has once again geared up to host its annual Mid Somerset Show, a one-day traditional agricultural event that brings together the community and showcases the best of rural life.

Slated to take place on Sunday, 20th August 2023, the event is expected to draw crowds from all over the region.

Held every year on the third Sunday of August, the Mid Somerset Show takes pride in its rich heritage and its diverse attractions. The show provides an ideal family day out with an extensive line-up that includes livestock and equine showing, show jumping, Somerset Cider Championships, the Cheese Awards at the Mid Somerset Show, and an array of Arts, Crafts, and Flower Show classes.

The show's livestock exhibits are a sight to behold for animal lovers and farming enthusiasts. It's a chance to see cattle, sheep, and pigs up close, with entries already closed for these categories. The Young Farmers' Club (YFC) will also be hosting a Stock Judging event, where entrants have until 23:59 on the day of the show to submit their entries.

Equine showing and show jumping are always crowd-pleasers, with entries for horses closing on the 18th August and show jumping entries accepted until the 19th August. These events draw talented riders and spectacular horses to compete, providing thrilling entertainment for spectators.

The Somerset Cider Championships and the Cheese Awards at the Mid Somerset Show champion some of the finest local produce. Although entries for these competitions are now closed, visitors can look forward to sampling a vast range of quality ciders and cheeses.

In addition, the event will host an Arts, Crafts, and Flower Show, which promises to exhibit the creativity and craftsmanship of local artists and enthusiasts. It's a feast for the eyes, and visitors can anticipate a colourful and imaginative display.

Classic vehicle lovers won't be disappointed, with a range of vintage and classic vehicles set to be showcased at the event. Entries for this popular section close later today.

Whether you are a farming enthusiast, a foodie, an arts and crafts lover, or someone just looking for a fun-filled family day out, the Mid Somerset Show offers an unforgettable experience.

Make sure to mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy a day that truly has something for everyone.
