The Lantern Parade has been postponed

It is with great regret that the organisers must postpone the 10th Shepton Mallet Lantern Parade owing to adverse weather, which has meant that one band is trapped in Taunton and the other are unable to play and lead the parade in the rain.

Rather than struggle on with a damp and silent parade, the committee has decided to postpone the parade until early in the new year and will announce the new parade date soon.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding and wish you a very merry Christmas and happy new year."
