Shift Engineer/Maintenance Engineer - Shepton Mallet
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly-skilled engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias to join a leading food and drink manufacturer in Shepton Mallet.
Essential to the role is experience in a FMCG environment. This position requires a self-motived engineer to manage the day-to-day engineering production demands across the site, in order to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment, while meeting operational requirements.
The role is 42 hours' per week, working on a four on, four off shift (two x 12-hour day shifts and two x 12-hour night shifts).
The role of the Shift Engineer will involve:
- Improve and promote safety across the site
- Carry out work orders to repair and maintain plant and equipment;
- Improve machines and processes to increase equipment effectiveness;
- Carry out PPM work schedules;
- Ensure all work is recorded on the computer-based work order system;
- Support other engineering personnel to achieve departmental goals, and;
- Ensure all breakdowns and project work are carried out within the required time scale
The person:
- The ability to work in a fast-moving environment (e.g. automotive or FMCG) is essential;
- Must be able to demonstrate a track record of working as part of a team, using their own initiative and challenge current practices;
- Mechanically or electrically qualified
Job specifics:
Permanent, full-time. Salary £42,500 per annum.
