Shift Engineer/Maintenance Engineer - Shepton Mallet

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly-skilled engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias to join a leading food and drink manufacturer in Shepton Mallet.

Essential to the role is experience in a FMCG environment. This position requires a self-motived engineer to manage the day-to-day engineering production demands across the site, in order to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment, while meeting operational requirements.

The role is 42 hours' per week, working on a four on, four off shift (two x 12-hour day shifts and two x 12-hour night shifts).

The role of the Shift Engineer will involve:

  • Improve and promote safety across the site
  • Carry out work orders to repair and maintain plant and equipment;
  • Improve machines and processes to increase equipment effectiveness;
  • Carry out PPM work schedules;
  • Ensure all work is recorded on the computer-based work order system;
  • Support other engineering personnel to achieve departmental goals, and;
  • Ensure all breakdowns and project work are carried out within the required time scale

The person:

  • The ability to work in a fast-moving environment (e.g. automotive or FMCG) is essential;
  • Must be able to demonstrate a track record of working as part of a team, using their own initiative and challenge current practices;
  • Mechanically or electrically qualified

Job specifics:

Permanent, full-time. Salary £42,500 per annum.

Food Production Operatives - Ditcheat

We are currently looking for Production Operatives to work in Ditcheat.

About the roles:

  • The roles will involve day-to-day curd turning (manual) and the bagging, sealing and boxing of cheese.
  • The roles are physically demanding and therefore candidates must be able to cope with these demands.

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday 5.45am to 2.15pm/1.45pm to 10.15 (rotating shifts one week days and then one week afternoons).

HGV Technician - Chilcompton

My client, an established and major player in the HGV Market, is looking to grow their busy workshop due to several new contracts that have been secured recently, and they are looking to recruit an established HGV Technician on this prestige site.

Your remit will be to carry out the full cycle of repairs, servicing, MOT work to a high standard and help the team achieve productivity targets in a range of Heavy Goods Vehicles. Your work will be varied including:

  • Routine and planned servicing
  • Diagnostic work
  • MOT preparation
  • Vehicle repairs
  • Tachograph maintenance

The ideal candidate will be fully qualified, have at least a Class II HGV Licence and preferably have some experience working on hydraulics and a diverse range of heavy commercial vehicles.

Permanent, full-time. Salary £30,000 to £35,000 per annum.
