Shepton Mallet Town Council is calling on Shepton residents, community groups and businesses to help make this summer one to remember!
The council has set aside a budget to fund free public events in the town, and now they are looking for people who would like to run a community event this summer to apply for the funding. The town council says it hopes to "help create a full programme of fun, safe, exciting events and activities that will give everyone in Shepton something to look forward to, while stimulating a vibrant local economy."
They are also keen to work with the organisers of events that are already planned for summer 2022 to help promote everything that is going on in the town.
Matt Harrison, Chair of Shepton Mallet Town Council, said, "We are building on the success of the programme that was introduced last year to deliver a Summer Series of free-entry public events in 2022. We are fortunate to live in an area where an amazing diversity of community groups are delivering a fantastic array of events and activities for all ages, abilities, and interest. We are hoping that this initiative will enable greater participation from our residents and encourage more groups to work with Shepton Mallet Town Council on behalf of the community."
