The winners have been chosen in CPRE Somerset's 2022 photography competition.

Becky Collier, Manager of CPRE Somerset, the countryside charity, said: "The sheer variety of images we received this year certainly goes to show that people have many different ways of spending "Happy Days in Somerset". We had over 100 entries and we are hugely grateful to everyone who took the trouble to send their photos in to us. We have a created a mini gallery on our website showing some of our favourites - do check this out. Our four judges had a tough job and they all had their own favourites but the overall winners are below and they both win a £100 cash prize.

Our Adult winner is Somerset life by the River Brue, one May evening – by Jeanette Broughton

We love the composition of this photo, the reflections and the vivid colours of the flowers. Jeanette said "I felt so shocked to hear that my photo had won the CPRE competition. I loved all of the other entries that I have seen on the website. I love Somerset, it's my home and I feel lucky to live in the beautiful surroundings that we have. The photo I chose to use for the competition was taken on a lovely evening, walking along the River Brue. I could spend hours in this spot and sometimes I do!"

Our Under 18 winner is Sea Walks by Dan Fawden

Dan's photo was a clear winner in the Under 18 category and our judges loved how the texture of the rocky shore mirrored the patterns in the clouds. Dan said "To win the competition is amazing news. The tide was just coming in when I captured this photo of my dog, Skye, on the last bit of rock left on the beach, soon to be under water."

Congratulations to both winners!
