Guide Dogs, a charity which provide a wide range of services to support blind and partially sighted people, is looking for My Sighted Guide Volunteers in Shepton Mallet.

Guide Dogs' ambition is for a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support to live their lives to the full.

They will not rest until people who are blind and partially sighted can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.

In this way, Guide Dogs are looking for My Sighted Guides to support people with sight loss in Shepton Mallet to get out and about in their local community, build self-confidence, increase social interaction, and promote independence.

In this role your support will include delivering sighted guide assistance, using skills provided in training, on a regular basis to someone with a visual or vision impairment to help increase their confidence, varying from three months to 12-plus months.

Being a My Sighted Guide is a perfect way to meet new people, explore new things in your community and make a difference to someone's life.

If you would like to apply or find out more, head over to the Guide Dogs website. By inputting your postcode, the website will allow you to see roles available to you in your area.

If you have any questions or queries, email Pat, the volunteer co-ordinator for Guide Dogs, at [email protected].
