Collett Park in Shepton Mallet has unveiled a new litter-picking station, thanks to the collaborative efforts of SUEZ UK and the 2 Minute Foundation.

This initiative aims to tackle litter and plastic pollution head-on by providing the public with the necessary tools to make a tangible difference.

Located conveniently outside Collett Park Cafe, the station is equipped with litter-picking sticks and bags, allowing park visitors to actively participate in keeping their community clean.

This user-friendly approach facilitates immediate action against litter and fosters a greater sense of community responsibility and environmental stewardship among locals.

The introduction of the litter-picking station in Shepton Mallet follows the success of similar schemes in other areas, which have reported a significant decrease in litter, with some noting up to a 60% reduction.

These stations not only help in cleaning up the environment but also play a crucial role in raising awareness about the impact of litter and plastic pollution on our planet.

Residents and visitors to Collett Park are encouraged to make use of the litter-picking station and join the movement towards a cleaner community. It's a simple yet effective way to contribute to the health and beauty of Shepton Mallet's green spaces.
