Shepton Mallet Town Council is now accepting applications for its latest round of community grants, offering funding to local organisations and groups working on projects that benefit the town. The scheme aims to support both new initiatives and ongoing services, with funds also available for use as matched funding.

The current grant round is open until 27th October, with local groups encouraged to apply.

The Town Council's community grant programme is designed to assist properly formed groups, clubs, committees, or charities that have charitable or community-focused aims. Projects must demonstrate a direct benefit to the residents of Shepton Mallet.

There are three types of grants available:

  • One-off Small Grants: Available for revenue funding from £1 to £500 for specific projects.
  • One-off Large Grants: Available for both revenue and capital funding, ranging from £501 to £2,000.
  • Strategic Grants: These are awarded in exceptional circumstances and include long-term funding, supported by a Service Level Agreement (SLA), for projects critical to the town's well-being.

Groups interested in applying for a grant are asked to complete the application form and ensure they have reviewed the Council's Grants Policy before submission.

Applications close in 32 days, so local groups are encouraged to act quickly to secure funding for their projects.
