Residents of Shepton Mallet, if you've got a knack for kneading and a passion for pastries, then the fifteenth series of the Great British Bake Off could be your calling.

The popular Channel 4 show is now accepting applications and here's what you need to know to make sure your cakes rise above the rest.

Eligibility criteria for Great British Bake Off

• You must be at least 16 years old as of 1 January 2024.
• You cannot be a professional baker, chef, or cook, or have acquired a professional cooking qualification within the last ten years.
• Availability for filming between April and August 2024 is a must.

Application process

1. The first step is to fill out the online application form. The deadline is sharp at 1 PM on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
2. If you pass the first hurdle, expect a phone interview.
3. Those who clear the phone round will go to London for an in-person interview and a screen test.
4. Finally, you could face a real-life technical challenge as your final audition for the show.

Love Productions is on the hunt for amateur bakers who have a mix of skill, enthusiasm, and an overarching love for baking. They're also looking for a broad spectrum of contestants to reflect Britain's diversity. The series will air next autumn on Channel 4.
