Fancy working on a steam train? East Somerset Railway seeks volunteers for autumn recruitment day

The East Somerset Railway is on the lookout for new volunteers and is hosting an autumn Volunteer Recruitment Day on 21st September at 10.30am.

The heritage steam railway is offering a wide range of volunteer roles, from train preparation and platform staff to footplate crew and carriage restoration. Whether you're interested in working as a Guard, helping in the Ticket Office, or joining the 'permanent way' gang maintaining the railway line, there's a role for everyone. Flexible time commitments and full training are provided.
