Escape room turf war launches at Shepton Mallet Prison with puzzles, pressure and a ticking clock

A brand-new escape room has launched inside the historic walls of Shepton Mallet Prison – but this one's more turf war than time-waster.
Turf Wars: A New Realm throws challengers into a high-stakes puzzle gauntlet across four themed rooms, where only the sharpest minds – and fastest thinkers – stand a chance of emerging victorious.
"This is no ordinary escape room… it's a turf war across four arenas, where every second matters," said a spokesperson for Shepton Mallet Prison.
The pressure's on from the moment the clock starts ticking. Teams have just one hour to crack riddles, solve logic challenges, complete physical tasks and hunt for hidden objects – all while dodging the Games Master's tricks and traps.
Each room ups the ante with fresh puzzles, demanding everything from strategy and teamwork to quick thinking and sharp observation. The goal? Find and assemble pieces of The Artefact before time runs out – and claim the turf as your own.
The spokesperson added: "Can you solve the puzzles, outwit their tricks, and assemble The Artefact before time runs out?"
It's fast. It's intense. And it's all happening inside one of the UK's most notorious former prisons.
Reckon you've got what it takes to take on the turf war? The Games Master is waiting.
