Families can step into the shoes of a detective at Shepton Mallet Prison this February half term with a series of immersive, history-packed experiences.

The 400-year-old former jail is inviting visitors to explore its rich history while tackling puzzles and mysteries across three detective-themed packages, catering to all ages.

The Self-Guided Tour offers a free Catch the Convict challenge. As you explore the historic prison, you'll work together to solve clues and identify a notorious convict. Successfully cracking the case will earn junior detectives a certificate and a 10% discount on food and drinks in the on-site café.

For those looking to take their sleuthing skills further, the Super Detective package includes a one-hour Super Detective Masterclass led by the prison's lead detective. Participants will learn crime scene analysis, fingerprint techniques, and code-cracking skills while solving puzzles. Junior detectives will receive a certificate and a special souvenir. Parents can get involved too, taking on the role of 'Dr Watson' while children step into the shoes of Sherlock Holmes.

The Senior Detective package offers the ultimate challenge with a puzzle-based escape room experience. Set inside real prison cells, The Cell and The Hole, families will have to work together to solve clues and escape. This package also includes the Self-Guided Tour, the Catch the Convict challenge, and the Super Detective Masterclass.

Tickets for these unique experiences can be booked now at Shepton Mallet Prison.
