Car severely damaged in Holcombe blaze as Shepton Mallet fire crews rush to the scene

Firefighters from Shepton Mallet were called out to tackle a car fire in Holcombe this week, after reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames.
The blaze broke out at around 5.52pm on Tuesday 27 May. A crew from Shepton Mallet Fire Station responded in a fire engine and arrived to find the car "well alight".
Using a foam jet, firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Despite their efforts, the vehicle was left with around 70 per cent fire damage.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental. They said: "One fire engine was sent to a report of a car on fire in Holcombe, Somerset. On arrival, crews confirmed this vehicle was well alight and extinguished it using a foam jet. The car was 70 per cent damaged by fire and the cause was accidental."
No injuries were reported.
