3 fire appliances from Frome and Shepton Mallet were mobilised to initial reports of a farm outbuilding on fire, which was believed to contain live stock.

However, shortly after the first crew from Frome arrived on scene, they confirmed this was in fact a car and horse box on fire. They set to work extinguishing them with 1 hose reel jet, whilst other crews confirmed the status of the livestock reported at the time of call. This turned out to be 4 horses, located safe and well, which were left in the care of their owners.

This incident is now complete and was brought under control at 02:25hrs. Once extinguished and the vehicles, and scene, made safe, duty of care was left with the owners and the Police, after crew confirmed the fire had been started deliberately. The car and horse box were severely damaged by fire, but there were no casualties or further fire spread.
