A crash between a bus and a van caused delays on the A371 Wells Road in Shepton Mallet yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.35pm following the collision, which led to the road being closed in both directions from Lower Silk Mill to The Horseshoe Inn.

Police confirmed that no one sustained significant injuries in the crash. Recovery work was carried out before the road was reopened later in the evening.

Traffic delays were reported throughout the afternoon, but by 6.56pm, congestion had eased, and normal travel conditions resumed.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to a collision between a bus and a van on the A371 in Shepton Mallet at about 3.35pm. We do not believe anybody sustained significant injury."
