Bull released from Slurry Pit at Cockmill Lane, East Pennard, Shepton Mallet

Date: 07.08.2018Time: 11:30Location: Cockmill Lane, East Pennard, Shepton MalletFire appliances from Shepton Mallet, along with the Water Rescue Unit from Exmouth were mobilised to a report of a cow stuck in a slurry pit.  Fire crews reported one bull stuck in the slurry pit up to its neck.  Crews made the area safe and worked with the farmer to apply a head harness and keep the animal calm.  The bull was released from the slurry pit using specialist rescue equipment and the farmers telehandler.
