16th Jul 2021 | Local News

Fire crews are in attendance of a large fire this afternoon (June 26) at the former Greencore factory site in Evercreech.

Local residents report hearing an "explosion" or "huge bang" at around lunchtime today, and flames could be seen coming from the site.

Multiple fire crews are now in attendance tackling the blaze, and the smoke can be seen from miles away.

We will report more in the incident when we are able to gather extra information.

Since the site closed as a factory, plans have been put in place for more than 120 homes to be built there, though concerns have been raised by local residents about this.
