Somerset Skills and Learning are excited to announce that their Apprentice of the Month winner for March is Jacey, who works in Shepton Mallet.

Jacey is a Customer Service apprentice at Grove House Surgery in Shepton Mallet. Her SS&L tutor, Andrew McDermott, and her manager, Teresa Cawsey, say why she's been chosen.

Teresa said: "We're all really pleased that Jacey has been awarded Apprentice of the Month and feel it's really well deserved.

"Jacey comes in to work every day with a smile on her face and a positive outlook. She is excellent on the phone with the patients and if she is ever unsure of what to advise, will check with her colleagues and ask the appropriate questions.

"She will always strive to find out the reasons behind actions that are taken, rather than just accepting that's how things are done which, as her Line Manager, I think is a great attitude to have. Jacey is a real asset to our team."

Andrew said: "Jacey has developed at a great pace during her apprenticeship.

"In recent months, Jacey has taken on a more leadership role within the group, helping others settle in and providing professional industry standard answers to questions.

"Jacey is motivated and hardworking towards her studies and working at target. Between Jacey, Teresa and myself we are confident that she has all the attributes and skills to succeed in the Customer Service Practitioner Standard and in her role at Grove House Surgery."

Jacey is delighted with the award and said:, "Overall I would say I'm really enjoying my apprenticeship and I'm finding it so beneficial.

"Choosing to go onto this apprenticeship was a great decision and is definitely going to help me with my future."
