Approval given for shepherd's huts in Croscombe to be used as holiday accommodation

Four shepherd's huts in Croscombe can now be used for holiday accommodation after planning permission was given by Mendip District Council.

The application for the change of use of land from agriculture to the stationing of up to four shepherd's hut caravans for holiday accommodation (C3) on land at Duncart Lane, Croscombe, was made by Mr N Marsh.

The huts are already on the land but are not being used for holiday accommodation, and are located more than 300 metres from the nearest neighbouring property.

Planning applications in the Shepton Mallet area that have bee submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:

Conversion of a redundant rural barn to a dwelling, including rebuilding of wing at Meadow Farm, Fosse Road, Oakhill, is wanted by Mr Andrew Mortimore.

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 3 (joinery details) on listed building consent 2019/1769/LBC at Manor Farm, Farm Lane, East Compton, has been made by Mr William Allard.

Application for a non-material amendment to permission 2019/2758/FUL for the re-configuration of kitchen producing addition of patio doors and a deletion of window, bedroom 2 - movement of skylight window at Acorn Lodge, Holcombe Hill, Holcombe, has been made by Mr David Anthony Simpson.

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 5 (wildlife protection and enhancement) on listed building consent 2019/0963/LBC at Greenscombe Farm, Creech Hill Road, Milton Clevedon, has been made by Max Wigram. Also an application for approval of details reserved by condition 4 (wildlife protection and enhancement) on planning consent 2019/0962/FUL has been made at the same address.

Application for outline planning permission with some matters reserved for the construction of five dwellings and associated vehicular access with details of access and layout on land at Church Lane, East Lydford, has been made by Mrs J Townley, Mrs Emma Bryant and Mrs Nicola Bryant.

Application has been made for approval of details reserved by condition 4 (disposal of surface water) on planning consent 2017/3282/FUL at Highcroft, Bruton Road, Evercreech.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3, (Fencing Materials) on planning consent 2019/2970/FUL on land at Forum Lane, Shepton Mallet, has been made by Ms M Ayton.

Works to trees in a Conservation Area: T1 - 5 Leylandiis - Fell. T2 - Goat willow- reduce by 4m, T3 - Lawson cypress- reduce by 3.5m, T4 - Lawson cypress - reduce by 3.5m at Stonecrest, Weir Lane, Pilton, are wanted by Mr Giles Webb.

Erection of single storey rear extension at 9 The Granary, High Street, Oakhill, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs A Powell.

Demolition of conservatory, erection of single storey rear extension, new external door opening and internal alterations at Montrose, High Street, Coleford, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Adam Cooke.

Demolition of existing conservatory and rear extension and erection of replacement garden room extension at Sunnyside, Westcombe Road, Stoney Stratton, has been applied for by Mr Tiley.

Proposed single storey rear extension at 10 Westmead, Chilcompton, is wanted by K Chard.

Change of use of agricultural building and associated curtilage to a dwellinghouse (Use Class C3) as per approval 2020/0638/PAA on land at Thrupe Lane, Masbury, has been applied for by Mr Nicholas Hiscox.

Conversion and extension of stable building to form holiday letting accommodation (additional drainage info submitted 10.03.20) at Whitecroft Farm, Fosse Way, Pylle, by Mr M Pudner has been approved.

Erection of single storey front extension and adaptation of vehicular drive at 1 Maple Close, Queens Road, Evercreech, by Mrs L Biddiscombe has been approved.

Application to vary conditions 2 (Materials), 3 (Surface Water and Foul Drainage Strategy), 4 (Hard and Soft Landscaping), 5 (Parking), 8 (Provision and Storage of Recycling and Waste Containers) and 9 (Provision of Cycle Parking) of planning approval 2019/2285/REM at Shireways, Cannards Grave Road, Shepton Mallet, by Mr Martin Doble has been approved.

Application to discharge condition 2 (materials) and condition 3 (sample panel - walling) on previously approved 2019/1134/REM at Oaklands Farm, Withial Lane, East Pennard, by Miss Victoria Bull has been approved.

Notification for Prior Approval for a Proposed Change of Use of Agricultural Building to flexible commercial use at Newlands Farm, Bath Road to Harridge Wood, Nettlebridge, by Mr George Portch has been withdrawn.

Application for approval of details reserved by condition 3 (Materials) on planning consent 2019/2574/HSE at Bridge House, Mill Lane, Alhampton, by Professor Langhorne has been approved.

Approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (roofing materials), 4 (walling materials) and 5 (external fixed plant) on planning consent 2019/1019/FUL at Pilton Parish Hall, St Mary's Lane, Pilton, by Mr Simon Finlay has been given. As has an application for approval of details reserved by conditions 6 (Service and Delivery Strategy) on planning consent 2019/0461/FUL at the same address.
