Scheduled for next Thursday, 7th December at 11am, this event promises to bring the iconic Elvis Presley experience to the town, complete with costumes, incredible sound, and a community tea party.

This special event is aimed primarily at those aged 55 and over, offering a fantastic opportunity for fun, conversation, and new friendships. Attendees can look forward to refreshments, including tea and coffee, all provided as part of the experience.

Thanks to the generous support from The Somerset Fund, this event is free to attend. It is organized by Make the Sunshine, a group known for running a wide array of community events across Shepton Mallet. Their initiatives are known for bringing people together and adding warmth to the community, especially during the colder months.

Louise, the Director of the project, emphasises the event's inclusive nature: "This Winter Warmer is all about getting people together for some fun and new conversations. We particularly encourage those who might feel a bit isolated to join us. It's a friendly and welcoming environment, and many have come alone only to leave with great friends. If you need help with transport, please reach out to us, and we will do our best to assist."

James Burrell's Elvis show has received widespread acclaim, with attendees praising it as the best among Elvis tribute acts. Comments such as "Truly the best among the Elvis fraternity" and "It was like having Elvis in the room!" highlight the quality and authenticity of his performances.

Make the Sunshine's events have also been lauded for their warm and welcoming atmosphere. One attendee shared, "I came along not knowing anyone and have made so many friends - it's such a welcoming, fun atmosphere!"
