The current roadworks on the A361 Charlton Road in Shepton Mallet are going to be switched from a daytime to night-time closure due to the amount of access that is required during the day.

The resurfacing work has seen two days, including today (August 28), of road closure from 7.30am to 5.30pm, but due to people requiring access during these times, it will now be switched to an evening closure.

It is expected to be shut from 5.30pm to 11.30pm, and will now be both tomorrow night, August 29, and Friday night, which is a day longer than originally planned.

The closure runs from the Charlton Crossroads to the junction with Frithfield Lane and Frithfield Walk.
