Shepton Walks volunteers have set a new record after collecting 34 bags of rubbish during a community walk this week.

The group, supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council, thanked everyone who joined the event, which combined litter picking with a scenic walk around the town.

A spokesperson for Shepton Walks said: "What a great walk we had! Managed to collect 34 bags of rubbish - a new record. Thank you to everyone who came along."

The next event in the series will be a geology walk taking place on Sunday, continuing the group's mission to promote outdoor activity and community involvement.
