Bumper crowds for the first day of the Royal Bath and West Show

The Royal Bath & West Show is back with a bang this year.

As the sun came out for the first day of the popular show, so did the crowds, with locals reporting gridlocked traffic in the morning as people travelled to the popular and historic show which celebrates British farming, food and rural crafts.

The show was cencelled twice during the Covid-19 pandemic (in 2020 and 2021), although a smaller 'Bath & West Country Festival' was held in August 2021. If the bumper crowds were anything to go by, it seems that people are delighted with its return.

This year sees the return of all the usual livestock and equine classes, rural life exhibitions and popular family entertainment, as well as the addition of the Great British Kitchen where celebrity chefs will be showing off their skills.

Around 50,000 people are expected to attend over the three days.
