The Hong Kong Garden takeaway in Shepton Mallet will be reopening tomorrow (May 1) with some changes in place about how customers are going to be served plus a discount offer for NHS staff.
The Chinese takeaway in the High Street has been closed following government advice to stop the spread of coronavirus, but following a relaxation of recommendations, it will now reopen from tomorrow between the hours of 4.30pm and 9.30pm.
To abide by the social distancing rules, the shop is only allowing one customer in the premises at a time.
It has also had some signs made up to be placed in front of the door to remind customers to keep two metres apart when queuing.
Manager Xiaodan Chen said: "To help stop the spread, we decided to close our doors on March 23, and it was the most difficult choice we have had to make.
"In these last couple of weeks, I think all of our residents are doing really well with social distancing so, after careful consideration, we're very pleased to announce that we're reopening this Friday.
"We miss all of our lovely customers so much and can't wait to see them from tomorrow."
For the NHS discount, Hong Kong Garden are providing a 30 per cent off discount for all NHS staff, who just need to present their NHS ID card when they arrive.
