Up to 300 homes could be built between Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Chilcompton and Midsomer Norton as an initial planning application has been submitted for the land.

The request for a Screening and Scoping Opinion for 250 to 300 dwellings, access, open space and associated infrastructure on land to the north of the White Post Inn, Fosse Way, Stratton-on-the-Fosse, has been made by Rosie Dinnen.

A screening opinion lets you find out whether a proposal needs an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) before making a planning application.

If an EIA is needed for a development, you can get advice on what needs to be included by asking for a Scoping Opinion.

Back in 2016, planning permission was refused on the site for a three-form entry primary school, up to 188 residential dwellings and associated public open space, landscaping and infrastructure.

If housing is now approved on the site, it would link up development from the new housing on the edge of Midsomer Norton and the White Post.
