Live within a 1-hour commutable distance from the Shepton Mallet depot. Must be able to pass a Network Rail related Medical and Drug & Alcohol check.Candidate background:Candidates from a rolling stock, HGV, Armed Forces, PSV, Automotive, Plant backgrounds are preferred, although we encourage applications from a wide variety of backgrounds. A great attitude to work and a full appreciation to health and safety at work is also essential. A full UK driving license is desirable.Job DescriptionUndertake general maintenance and perform operational checks on a busy fleet of Freight Locomotives.You will put your electrical skills to good use in undertaking electrical checks and testing, in-depth fault finding, diagnostics and rectification whilst supporting the mechanical technicians during less busy periods in general maintenance.Utilising test meters, with your knowledge and experience, you will support the engineering team in providing a swift turn around in the provision of electrical solutions on the locomotive.
