The RNLI has agreed that the Branch should change its name to reflect better the wider area that the Branch covers, so from 1st October the Branch will become the "RNLI Mendip Branch". The Branch includes the area of Mendip from Nailsea in the north, south through Winscombe to Wedmore and south east from Winscombe along Mendip & Cheddar Valley through Cheddar, Priddy, and Wells, to Shepton Mallet. The southern edge runs from Wedmore south east to embrace Glastonbury and Street. Hence, the new name is a better definition of where we cover.
