BYGONE DAYS ILLUSTRATED HISTORY TALK

Radstock Museum's Bygone Days Talks team have a real treat for history lovers this April. On Tuesday April 7th, 7:30pm Richard Ellam will presents illustrated talk : A Brief Social History of Time. Richard says, "Once upon a time, we lived by the natural cycles of daylight and moonlight. Nowadays it seems like we're all slaves to the clock, and always late for everything. How did this sorry state of affairs come to be: how ever did we let these pesky ticking Time-lords into our lives, let alone allow them to take over?"

Historian of science Richard Ellam will try to shed some light on this perplexing subject. It's an epic tale, with a cast of thousands including Astronomers Royal (and otherwise), multitudes of monks, hordes of horologists, and two rather puzzled telegraph engineers. Richard is an experienced speaker with a big voice to match his big personality which keeps his audience transfixed, he also packs the hour with so much fascinating information in an easy to digest manner that it makes this a must-go event for history lovers.

We start at 7:30 prompt. Don't be late! (Ha! Ha!)
