St Aldhelm's Day - mini art pilgrimage

St. Aldhelm's Day

Mini pilgrimage with art and creative writing (approx. 2 miles)

Sunday 25th May 2025

Join Rev. Gill Sakakini & Polly Hall for a creative mini-pilgrimage to St Aldhelm's Well and Church, Doulting. Known as the first Anglo-Saxon man of letters, St Aldhelm wrote prose and poetry including many riddles. He is the Patron Saint of musicians and songwriters. The feast day of our local Saint Aldhelm falls on 25th May.

We will meander the beautiful East Mendip Way towards Doulting. We will visit St Aldhelm's Well and Church in Doulting, stopping along the way to reflect.

Meet at Kilver Court from 2:15pm. We will leave promptly at 2:30pm.

Please note: Roughly 1 hour walking time. Footpaths may be uneven, some steep bits and walk includes stiles and gates.

If you are unable to walk with us, you are welcome to join the group at St Aldhelm's Church at 4pm for a short gathering with art, music & words. Refreshments/cake will be served. Suitable for all ages and families.

Please book your place via Eventbrite. Suggested donation of £5-£10 for St Aldhelm's Church and School.
