‘ReciPE for LoVe’ Found Poetry Workshop
Shepton Mallet Library
Arts & Crafts
2nd Mar 2024 - 2nd Mar 2024
UNTIL Saturday 2nd March
Found Poetry is a form of poetry art that uses existing text or 'found' words to create new poems. An environmentally conscious form of word recycling!
We will use existing texts from old recipe books, food writing from used newspapers and other printed materials in this fun, experimental workshop led by Polly Hall. You will learn how to create your own 'found' poetry from printed words using different techniques such as redaction or cut-out.
Why 'LoVe' poetry? The idea comes from eating as an erotic act and food writers have long harnessed the language of food to tickle our tastebuds. So, by extension we will be reimagining their words into saucy, spicy and quite possibly, hot poems!
Polly has run creative workshops for many years and welcomes all those new or seasoned to this fun and irreverent workshop.
All materials provided. No experience necessary.
