The former Shepton Mallet Tourist Information Centre is being turned into a new Somerset Skills and Learning centre

Plans by Somerset Skills and Learning (SS&L) to change the former Shepton Mallet Tourist Information Centre into an education site, have been approved by Mendip District Council.

A planning application for the change of use of the building from Tourist Information Centre (sui generis) to Education Services (F1(a)) at 70 High Street, Shepton Mallet, had been submitted by Andy Hobbs on behalf of SS&L.

All ages took part in the Bath and West Equine Showing Show

More than 800 equine competitors galloped to the Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, as the Royal Bath and West of England Society finally hosted their first show since 2019.

Despite the high winds and relentless rain on day one, competitors were ready and raring to go with a full complement of in-hand and ridden classes, together with qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show and the Horse of the Year Show, plus the Price Family Supreme In Hand Qualifier.
