How the refurbished Shepton Mallet Library will look

Shepton Mallet Library will reopen on Monday (June 28), following its refurbishment to make it a more versatile community space.

Somerset County Council has worked with Shepton Mallet Town Council and 7 Starlings Community Interest Company (CIC) to agree a new model for the library, which will see it used as a venue for a wide range of community-based activities outside the library's regular opening hours.

The Glastonbury Festival event being staged in Pilton in September has been confirmed as a one-day concert after planning approval was granted for the set-up and removal of the infrastructure on site.

A planning application for the approval of details reserved by conditions 5 (works of construction) on planning consent 2016/2238/VRC at Worthy Farm, Worthy Lane, Pilton, by Glastonbury Festival Events Ltd has been approved by Mendip District Council.
