Cricket, like many other sports, is not being played at the moment, due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
However, that has not stopped Cranmore Cricket Club members keeping their ground in top condition, so they are ready to resume action as soon as restrictions are listed.
The club has three people currently still doing ground maintenance - Mickey Keene, Andrew Baker and Steve Allen.
The wicket has been rolled and cut, and the outfield has been mowed as well to the normal length on match days.
Honorary treasurer and second team captain, Darren Butt, told Shepton Mallet Nub News that the club are waiting on more announcements regarding the situation.
He said: "Due to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) communications, we don't expect to play cricket until July 1 at the very earliest.
"However, we are expecting more announcements to follow concerning what is happening to the league with only nine games possible. There could be no promotion or relegation, or no cricket full stop.
"Today (Saturday May 2) both the first and second team should be playing our first league games of the season, but sadly in the light of the virus every sport is self isolating.
"For our small club we have no income coming in but bills still being paid such as for water and insurance, but as long everybody is safe and well that is more important.
"The ground is ready for cricket with Andrew Baker cutting the wicket, Steve Allen rolling the wicket and Mickey Keene cutting the outfield plus the ground maintenance.
"The ECB have said there will be no professional cricket until July 1 at the moment but personally I cannot see village cricket being played in leagues this season.
"We might play some midweek 20:20 games or friendlies but only if social distancing is relaxed especially with clubs having small changing rooms and tea rooms.
"The wicket keeper will not be able to stand up to the wicket due to having to stand two metres away from the batsman, so league cricket will probably commence in full in 2021."
Whether there is any cricket or not, one thing is for sure and that is the ground will continue to look splendid.
