Shepton Mallet Gymnastics Club travelled to Bristol to compete in a friendly Tumbling at the weekend.

For many this was a chance to compete in the next NDP level and others compete for their first time.

In the level 2 completion, Shepton took a full house of medals with Izzy McCulloch taking a well-deserved gold medal.

Team mate Holly Wright tumbled her way to silver and Nathaniel Halls took a bronze medal. Nathaniel has only been doing gymnastics for just over a year, and he has proved to be a hard working gymnast.

Next up was Calla Scott in the over 10-year-old category in NDP1. Calla is only nine years old and was against gymnasts with a lot of experience which meant a lot of work and concentration. Calla showed an amazing performance taking a well earned gold medal for her tumbling.

NDP level 2 were next up, Shepton didn't stop there with medals as Lotty Wheeler took another gold for the club.

Alice Dillon and Darcie Snaith both upped their level in tumbling, their training had paid off taking a gold for Alice and silver for Darcie in grade 3.

The club's senior gymnast Izzy Wheeler also performed amazingly in NDP level 4 taking another gold.

Overall the club took home an amazing four golds, two silver and a bronze.
