The road is one of two main routes to Bristol from Somerset
On Sunday (July 14), motorists will not be able to drive along the A371 from Shepton Mallet to Wells as the road will be closed at Croscombe.
The road will be shut for the day to enable Western Power Distribution to replace some overhead electricity wires.

Alex Mann, more widely known as #alexfromglasto, was in Shepton Mallet yesterday after his amazing impromptu performance with #dave at Glastonbury Festival.
Alex, of Wells, came back to his home for a short pit stop yesterday and called in at Pocket Money Studio to do an interview for Radio Shepton which will be published at www.MixCloud.com/radioshepton.
Date: 04.07.2019Time: 18:17Location: Nunney Catch Roundabout, FromeFire Control received calls reporting a large hay bale which had tipped into the road, causing damage to a street lamp which had its wires exposed and was smoking and smouldering in the heat. A Fire Engine from Frome was quickly mobilised to the incident, upon arrival they requested a make pumps two for crew safety, and a second Fire Engine from Frome was mobilised to assist. Crews confirmed that a trailer carrying approximately 30 hay bales had toppled over and landed on a street lamp which was sparking. Fire Fighters managed traffic at the scene whilst they awaited for the street light company to attend and isolate the street light. Crews then used a tractor to remove the tractor, trailer and hay bales from the highway.The A361 was reported as being now open at 20:37hrs, with one lane remaining closed for lamppost inspection. All providers of health care are required to carry out the Friends and Family Test as part of the NHS' commitment to improving the patient experience.
